ZTE Nubia X8 leaks with bezel-less QHD screen, 4GB RAM and 5120mAh battery

Out of China comes a report about what could be a new high-end ZTE handset. Dubbed the ZTE Nubia X8, images of the phone were apparently removed from an official ZTE website, but not before some information and images were grabbed. The Nubia X8 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch or 6-inch "bezel-less" screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM is inside along with 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Those requiring additional memory can use the included 64GB capacity microSD slot.

A massive 5120mAh battery keeps the phone running for a long time, but also contributes to the heavy 201g weight of the model. To put that in perspective, even a heavyweight like the 64GB Motorola DROID Turbo weighs in at 176g. Still, this handset is not a fatty. The Nubia X8 features dimensions of 162mm × 75mm × 7.9 mm. Since we've already called upon the DROID Turbo to serve as comparison, the 64GB version of that handset is 11.2mm thick.

Android 5.0 is pre-installed on the unit, which offers 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. There is no word on when we might see this monster unveiled, and pricing is also unknown at this time. What we do know is that there will be two color options for buyers, Black and Gold.

Thanks for the tip!

That would have been sick with a 5 inch screen. It would have been smaller than any 4.5 inch phone. Probably close to iPhone 5s or original Moto X size. Had to go 6 inch, other than the too large screen, that's a sick design.

I love the size as I feel 5 inch is to cramped up. Obviously all opinion and a very person decision. This phone to me sounds amazing and I have no issue with weight.

True its all decision me myself like about 5-5 inch screen size more would be harder to transport around at least for me.

a 6 inch phone without bezels is probably almost the same size as a 5 inch with bezels....

Yep i failed on that, I meant 5-5.5 inch device not screen. I dont really like too much bezeless phone to be honest.

Do these things have something to prevent accidental touches?

Like every other device you wont be able to touch 0.1-0.5mm of display edges so thats great.

I see, thanks for the answer! Had an experience with very slim side bezels plus big screen, and had many accidental touches when reaching the upper parts on the opposite side.

A 5" version would have been sweet.

They already made that, Nubia z9. 5.2" 1080p display 68.3mm its allmost same size as 4.7" iphone 6

Most likely gonna be a 6 inch version with that kind of battery capacity. A 5.5 inch with 4xxx mAh battery tho would be killer. @Taters 5 inch display with QHD is stupid imo. I know Samsung did something like that, buuuut adding that type of resolution is cramming the CRAP out of the pixels!

Apparently there is a 4.6 inch QHD display kicking around that Moto and someone else might use. Imagine that with no bezels like this? It would be smaller than a Nexus S. Like it or not that is still the ultimate goal. As compact as possible with a great viewing experience and 4.6 - 5 inch displays are definitely the sweet spot for the majority. Some iPhone people still cling to the 4inch display but that is mainly over all size they prefer and not the actual screen size.

4.6" to 5" is the sweet spot in the US but most of these companies have to cater to a global audience.

Don't believe every rumor you hear, Taters. I'm assuming you don't by your use of the word "apparently". The smallest FHD screen is 4.5". I don't believe for one second that a 4.6" QHD screen will be released anytime soon.

Battery capacity isn't everything my friend. I remember when Lenovo announced the Z2 Pro with 4000mah, the same was said. But real life tests showed that it has mediocre battery life compared to the Note 4. Optimization and screen quality are one the biggest factors for a great battery life. Z3 is a great example of that.

Thus why I believe in that holy trinity; optimization, scr quality and batt capacity NONE of either compromise. Not best 2 out 3 nada. If say a well thought device nails down both power management and screen nicely, then that doesn't mean said OEM should excuse themselves and go with a thinner battery. More battery to that, more power to the user, much better for the money spent.

Yeah but since 3400mah Lumia 1520 with6 inch display has the best battery life according to gsmarena. Battery capacity is not everything.

PA proved otherwise, battery tests wont ever be really legit only users who tries them can really know cause some devices are better optimized for heavy use and somer arent etc.

When it comes to battery life test GsmArena method is the best than any other site, their method is very straightforward and very easy to understand.
