Xiaomi to have a 'jaw-dropping' announcement tomorrow; image of Redmi Note 2 leaks

Meanwhile, a photo seemingly taken inside the manufacturing facility where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is being produced, shows the top of the device from a high angle, revealing a blue frame that surrounds the handset. This is a bit unusual for the company, which usually offers its high-end models in white only.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That combines to produce a 401ppi pixel density. MediaTek's MT-6795 SoC will be under the hood, containing a true octa-core CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. Back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 5MP, respectively. Inside the phone, a 3000mAh battery is keeping the lights on. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 supports 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 5.0 is pre-installed with Xiaomi's MIUI 6 running on top.
Make sure you keep checking in starting tonight for all of the news from China. The Xiaomi event will take place at 10am Tuesday morning in China, which is 10pm tonight in New York.
Thanks for the tip!

I don't see why MediaTek doesn't use the GPU series that's in the iPhone 6.

It is yet to come out. Wait for the actually hands on. S5 lags like hell even with so called superior GPU. MIUI is superb and lags very little even with lowest of spec. Wait for the actual phone to materialize and before comments like this.

You my friend haven't used mipad it has the best possible hardware and worst possible software , miui lags and stutters like crazy even with tegra k1 under the good so had to install cm11 to keep things running smooth , check out xda or flipkart reviews to see how bad miui is optimized at least for mipad

"lags very little even with lowest of spec" I have the Redmi 1S and this phone easily lags like hell. Not to mention, important process stop working which leads to being unable to open the messaging, contacts and dialer apps. I will also add in that the phone heats up a lot, and lags until you have to reboot because of unusability. MIUI is not a smooth experience for the lowest spec'ed device, but I doubt it would be a change for higher spec'ed ones.

lol you guys are way off. This was Xiaomi India (nno event in China) and it's either a price cut for the Redmi Note or they are introducing the Mi Note in India. Given the recent price drop and new bands for the Mi Note my bet is on this one.
