Xiaomi to have a 'jaw-dropping' announcement tomorrow; image of Redmi Note 2 leaks
A tweet sent out by Xiaomi says that the company will be making a jaw-dropping announcement tomorrow. Tuesday is going to be a busy day in China as new handsets are expected to be introduced by Huawei and Meizu in addition to Xiaomi. We should see the Huawei Honor 7, Meizu MX5 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 all unveiled tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a photo seemingly taken inside the manufacturing facility where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is being produced, shows the top of the device from a high angle, revealing a blue frame that surrounds the handset. This is a bit unusual for the company, which usually offers its high-end models in white only.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That combines to produce a 401ppi pixel density. MediaTek's MT-6795 SoC will be under the hood, containing a true octa-core CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. Back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 5MP, respectively. Inside the phone, a 3000mAh battery is keeping the lights on. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 supports 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 5.0 is pre-installed with Xiaomi's MIUI 6 running on top.

Make sure you keep checking in starting tonight for all of the news from China. The Xiaomi event will take place at 10am Tuesday morning in China, which is 10pm tonight in New York.
