Microsoft has just unveiled Windows Phone 8.1, "taking the world’s most personal smartphone experience and making it way better", but when will it come to existing devices?
Unfortunately, it won’t be in the next few days, or weeks - instead, Microsoft expects to start rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 to existing handsets in the next few months.
We've earlier heard whispers about Windows Phone 8.1 arriving to current phones running WP 8 in April to May, and while this timeline does seem possible, Microsoft did not commit to a specific month or date.
The Windows Phone 8.1 update brings new features like an Action Center (a notification dropdown similar to what you have on Android), the Cortana personal assistant, new customization options with wallpapers on the home screen and different tile arrangements. We’ll surely be hearing more about the Windows Phone 8.1 update roll-out in the near future, so stay tuned.
