US Cellular rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the LG G5
Following in the footsteps of T-Mobile and Sprint, US Cellular has started pushing the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the LG G5.

The update will bring LG G5 units on US Cellular to build version US99223A. The update, measuring a little above 1.5GB in size, contains the Android 7.0 Nougat update as well as several minor changes.

If you haven't received the update just yet, there's no need to worry. The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the LG G5 on US Cellular's network is rolling out in stages, meaning that not everyone will get the new Android flavor at the same time. Your phone will manually check for the availability of new software updates, but if you're the impatient type, head on over to Settings menu to manually check for the update.

If you're new to the latest major Android iteration, you can learn all about it by heading on over to our Android 7.0 Nougat review.

Out of all the flagship Android smartphones of 2016, the LG G5 is one of the firsts to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, at least when it comes to carrier-branded versions. The G5's major competitors, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge have yet to get their taste of Nougat. Other phones, such as the HTC 10, have started receiving the Nougat update but at the moment, only unlocked versions were treated to the latest flavor of Android. Kudos to LG for managing to bring Nougat to its global flagship phone in a timely manner!
