pixel 4 features coming to Pixel 3
The Google Pixel 4 series is packed full of cool new features which are currently available as exclusives on the flagships. But as it turns out, Google has plans to bring two of them to its older devices.

First up is the Pixel 4’s new astrophotography mode which captures stunning photos of the night sky. It captures multiple long exposures which are later combined together with software wizardry to produce a high-quality photo.

The new feature should be available to use on the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL as part of version 7.1 of the Google Camera app. As pointed out by Android Police, though, the hardware limitations of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a smartphones means the resulting astrophotography shots won’t be quite as good as those taken on the Pixel 4.

Accompanying this will be Live Caption. Google didn’t mention compatibility with older devices at its event yesterday but revealed to Android Police after that the feature would indeed be coming to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a lineups as part of an updated in December.

This software feature automatically creates real-time captions for videos, regardless of if they’re stored on the phone or hosted on a website. Even more impressive is the fact that the entire process happens on the device with no need for an internet connection.
