Three secret clues hide in the Note 7 event invitation. Can you spot more?

It's a common thing nowadays that a major tech product will have its appropriate event, where the manufacturer gets to showcase the new gizmo's many strengths and features. These happenings are usually well-themed, ideally in a way that complements the company's vision for the product and its characteristics. And, as with any big event, the invitations to the show usually carry a part of the ceremony's theme themselves.

A couple of days ago, Samsung sent off its official invitations for an August 2nd event — one, where the spotlights will shine over the new Galaxy Note phablet – one of the most recognizable and loved line of large-screened smartphones out there. Like most smartphone fans — we are eager to see what's in store, and are over-analyzing and over-thinking every little clue, the invitation included. Join us as we speculate over this card!

A hint at the Note 7 name

The invitation's image is pretty low-key. We are treated to a black rectangle with a lot of S Pen-resembling silhouettes. One thing that immediately jumps out is the “7” before the name of the event — Unpacked. Could this mean it's the 7th event of the same name? Well, no — Samsung's presentation happenings for its Galaxy S series in the first half of each year, and its Galaxy Note series in the second half, are both called “Unpacked”, and since they started in 2009, it can't be that this is merely the 7th one. Thus – it's very safe to assume (as everyone has already) that this confirms that the Note line will skip the number “6” and jump straight to Note 7. Another nice touch, pointing at the number 7, is the circle of S Pen-shaped strips to the left counting clockwise from the top one, we see that only the 7th one is in white, while the rest are in blue.

A reveal of the color options?

Looking at the whole picture again, we also noticed that there are only three colors to the whole theme. Sure, this could be for the purpose of minimalistic appearance, but do note that the colors are black, blue, and white. Coincidentally, a recent leak of alleged official Note 7 renders revealed three finishes for the new model – black, blue, and silver. Unfortunately, this may just be a confirmation that there won't be any fancy colors like gold or pink rose gold — at least not at launch.

A nod at the iris scanner

Why the choice for the odd circle shape to the left? Is it a loading circle? We certainly hope not — everyone hates seeing these. As we glared and gawked, we thought “Huh... it kind of looks like an eye...”. Especially with the little white strip on the bottom-right, which could easily mimic the light reflecting off of a blue-eyed person's iris, we can't help but think that this is a definite nod at the Note 7's iris scanner lock. We've seen so many leaks of the scanner, including its software side, that this is more of a fun reaffirmation, than a curious mystery. Sorry, Samsung.

And with that, we are spent. Can you pick up on any more clues from this Unpacked 2016 invitation?

Well, since the all pens form a circle, one can interprete them as an iris. However, at the same time, all pens are pointing into the same direction and since everything points to the existence of a 9th planet in our solar system, It is possible that Samsung will reveal the mysterious 9th planet in our solar system next to Note 7.

True. The white pen was also at the 5 position of the clock and then it spun to the 7 position of a clock and disappeared.

All those blue s-pens are pointing toward Le Serpent Vincent's unparalleled anger toward android phones. The black represents the emptiness pa commenters feel whenever hallyu or bobbybuster's accounts are resurrected, while 7 unpacked are the 6 abs + brain darkjeddi must flex and show whenever people call him an apple fanboy. Everything else on samsung launch is nonsense, the design is all about pa comments.

It looks to me like a pair of winking eyes. The S-pen on the right could be a closed eye. Also notice that the highlighted pen in the circle is the 7th one, clockwise from the top. Of course, the circle is similar to the "progress/loading circle" when a video is loading.

this one is the 7th note (white one), and all the note line will be gone after the 16th.. if this one is the 7th, then Note 4 edge must be one of that blue pen
