The Samsung Master is a 3G flipper for South Korea
Do you miss the good ol' days when most handsets were not intelligent and functionality was limited to making/taking calls. snapping low-res pictures, and texting using a telephone keypad? The Samsung Master is a featurephone using the traditional clamshell design. With 2G/3G connectivity, the closest thing to a smartphone on this device, is the faux leather and stitching first seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Master is going to be available in South Korea only, and really does remind you about how far the industry has come in such a short period of time. The phone has a 3 inch 240 x 320 display. A 3MP camera is on board with a 3.5mm earphone jack, FM radio and pedometer. A notification can be preset to go out to a selected recipient if the user hasn't touched his phone in a long time. That would seem like an odd feature unless Samsung expects to sell these to mostly elderly users.

The Samsung Master will be available in Metallic Silver or in Black and Red Wine, priced at 240,000 Won ($385 USD).

it must be. 240,000 Won is about $220. By the way, the price is pointless in Korea as it will be sold for free with a 3~6 month plan. If bought without the contract, it will probably be sold under $100 anyway as the the above price is the retail price which is never used in the real market in Korea.

Woah, now that's a lot for a feature phone. By the way, what's a feature phone doing in 2014?

Flip phone are ideal for elderly or those that despise smartphone. You can reciev a call simply by opening the phone and just close it after, no keys to press.

Might as well buy a Motorola Razr (the clamshell kind). I saw some of them retailed at $20
