The OnePlus 5T price may be pretty close to its predecessor's
Hot on the heels of CEO Pete Lau's tweet that the OnePlus fans will "appreciate what's coming" despite that the "cost of smartphone components is rising," comes a new leak which claims that the upcoming 5T handset will cost the same as its predecessor. In fact, the source posted what it says a table with the OnePlus 5T model pricing, allegedly sourced from a local carrier, which shows two versions of the handset will be in play, just as the rumors suggest.

The 6 GB RAM / 64 GB storage model carries the $505 equivalent price tag, while the 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage high-ender would go for $581, which is pretty close to what the current OnePlus 5 model used to command. When it was in stock, that is. This is closer to the Indian prices, says the source, while in the US the phone was tagged a bit lower, so there is every chance that OnePlus will fulfill its sub-$600 pricing hint

Needless to say, we will know for sure when the OnePlus team takes the stage on Thursday, but here's to hoping it will be one of the least expensive phones with Snapdragon 835 and the tall 18:9 display ratio this year.

In what world is a helio p25 similar to the snapdragon 835? The p25 is trash in comparison. The p25 is comparable to a sd 625. Almost close to the new 630. Definitely not anything in the 800 series. Similar screen and memory does not mean the entire package is similar. Video, image, dsp, modem, emmc 5.1 vs ufs 2. The sd 835 scores 180000 in antutu. The helio p25 scores 66000. Lets be serious. The sd 835 is the most advanced mobile chip out there. The helio p25 is a reasonable midrange chip. The only place the p25 competes is memory bandwidth. Everything else, there's no comparison.

@200 for the Doogee Mix 2, even Oneplus devices seem pricey by comparison. Similar specs for less than half the price. I understand that the SOC in both phones are not the same but still. I'm not sure the Oneplus phones are that much of a bargain anymore.

I'm not looking for the 5T to be cheap, just reasonable. There aren't many choices starting at the $500 mark in the US, and certainly not with a SD835 and 18:9 AMOLED.
