The Google Stadia app is goes live ahead of Nov. 19 launch date
The future of cloud-based gaming is now one step closer, as Google has just launched the official app for Stadia on the Play Store.

Google’s eagerly anticipated cloud gaming service is set to launch on November 19, but the official application has already gone live, as 9to5Google reported. The app is available for download on any Android device running Android Marshmallow or later, though Play-enabled Chromebooks cannot access the app.

To be clear, this doesn’t mean Stadia will support all those devices at launch- only Pixel phones and Chrome OS tablets will be supported at first. But the app can still be used on other devices to purchase games, as well as managing your account.

The app itself is rather sparse for now, as logging in with your Google account is basically all you can do without an invite code. However, official screenshots show more of the app interface, which features Store, Home, and Explore tabs. That last tab evidently includes integration with YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord.

With less than two weeks left until November 19, those who pre-ordered the Founders Edition or Premier Edition bundles will be awaiting Stadia’s full launch, when the first invite codes will unlock tomorrow’s gaming experience.
