Target taking reservations Friday on the Apple iPhone 5s
One of our loyal readers happens to be inside the loop at Target, so he passed along some interesting information. While there is not an official pre-order period for the Apple iPhone 5s, Target will be accepting reservations for the full-priced version of Apple's iconic smartphone starting Friday. We have to admit that we wonder what the point of the reservation is since it will not guarantee an iPhone 5s to the person reserving the phone.

Meanwhile, those who want to pre-order the Apple iPhone 5c can do so from Target on Friday by purchasing a $25 Target gift card. Those pre-ordering an iPhone 5c are guaranteed to receive the phone.

Our tipster tells us that he has been receiving emails from corporate all day, and there is no date or time announced when inventory will be available in the stores. Both devices are supposed to be available at other locations on September 20th.

Thanks, Anonymous Tipster!

Our source clarified the Apple iPhone 5s reservation policy. A Target customer reserving the Apple iPhone 5s will have a unit held aside for him but if he doesn't pick up the phone within 48 hours, the reservation is canceled. So if you are looking for a place to guarantee an Apple iPhone 5s before the September 20thlaunch, it looks like Target might be that place.

I'll only "reserve it" if they at least guarantee I get it. Whats the point of putting in money if its not guaranteed?

You're guaranteed to get one if you can pick it up in 48 hours. Otherwise, you lose your spot on the list.
