T-Mobile G1 owners to get TeleNav GPS
Owners of the G1 on T-Mobile should circle February 24th on their calendar. That is the date that the TeleNav GPS Navigator system will be available for a free 30 day trial on the first Android phone. After the trial is over, the service will cost $9.99 a month for unlimited use. The TeleNav service includes 3D full color moving maps with voice and on-screen turn-by-turn directions. With voice recognition, a G1 owner presses a button, says the name of a business or an address, and the TeleNav GPS Navigator will provide directions. And if a traffic alert pops up, with the press of a button, the Navigator can come up with a detour. TeleNav will also provide listings of  updated gas prices along a customer's routes to help find the lowest price, and provide listings of over 10 million businesses and services. It even will offer you restaurant reviews and weather updates. About the only thing this application doesn't do is brew coffee, but it will give you directions to the nearest Starbucks.
