Sprint's LG Marquee confirmed to be a rebranded Optimus Black, first press shots surface
We’ve been hearing about the Sprint-bound LG Marquee, rumored to be a rebranded and slightly tweaked version of the LG Optimus Black, and now the first press shots have leaked to confirm those whispers. The Sprint logo sits proudly on top of the device, while the press image reveals that the LG Marquee will come with Sprint ID.

We don’t yet know what (if anything) has changed on the inside compared to the Optimus Black, but the LG Marquee is expected to hit shelves with a similar configuration including a 1GHz single-core TI OMAP 3630 processor, 4-inch ultra-bright NOVA display with WVGA resolution, 512MB RAM, and a five-megapixel camera.

Also known as the Sprint LS855, the Marquee adopts slightly different visuals than the Black with a gray pinstripe back cover in lieu of the pure black plastic on the original. The Optimus Black is expected to get rebranded for regional carriers like US Cellular, Alltel and Virgin Mobile. The Sprint-bound LG Marquee’s release date is set for October 2nd, and while it’s not a top notch device, it certainly delivers a smooth Android experience. Check out our impressions of the device in the LG Optimus Black review.
