Sprint looking at October 20th launch of Palm Pixi?
A new tipster who has yet to earn his stripes with BGR has informed them that the second webOS device, the Palm Pixi, will be launched October 20th by Sprint. If true, this is going to be a very busy time period for new smartphones as the BlackBerry Storm 2 is expected to launch for Verizon around that time period and the Motorola CLIQ will be starting pre-sales for T-Mobile on the 19th, as we've reported.
The Pixi is smaller than its' brother with a 2.63 inch capacitive display with resolution of 320 X 400 pixels. Unlike the Pre, the newer device will not have a Wi-Fi radio and the QWERTY keyboard is not on a slider but is directly on the face on the device. With the Pre recently offered as low as $79.99 at Walmart (albeit for a limited time), it should be interesting to see where Sprint prices the Pixi. We could know the answer to that very shortly.
