Space-gray Apple iPad mini hits the Apple Stores
As announced by Apple, the black and slate version of the OG Apple iPad mini has been replaced by a space gray model that already is available at Apple Stores. Some of the larger-sized stores had the tablet in stock early in the day on Thursday, but the model was sold out by closing time. The space gray model was originally brought out to replace black and slate with the Apple iPhone 5s and is a color option on the new Apple iPad Air and Apple iPad mini with Retina display.
Along with the color change, Apple made the first-gen iPad mini its entry level 7.9 inch tablet and as such, has reduced the price of the 16GB Wi-Fi variant to $299. Like the Apple iPad 2, which remains the entry level 9.7 inch Apple tablet, the iPad mini will be available in 16GB Wi-Fi and 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular models.
