Sony launches octa-core Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 in India
It's been a big day for Sony so far today. Along with the unveiling of the Xperia Z3+, the company has just unleashed the Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 in India. Last week, the firm began sending out invitations to today's keynote in New Delhi, and while the aquatic theme of those invites alluded to the Xperia M4 Aqua, rumor had it that there'd be another handset in the offing. Now, we know this to be the Xperia C4

Neither of these handsets are brand new, but both are very closely related in terms of tech. specs. As you can see from a side-by-side comparison of these two devices, there's really not much to call between them, and while the C4 does include a sharper, 1080 x 1920 display against the 720 x 1280 offering of the M4 Aqua, the latter has the trump card of the dust and waterproofing.

Both the M4 Aqua and C4 boast octa-core, 64-bit processors, which are technically very similar. The M4 Aqua runs with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 8939 chipset with Adreno 405 graphics, while the C4 goes with the MediaTek MTK6752 allied to an ARM Mali760 MP2 GPU. Both are flanked by a healthy 2GB of RAM, and each can have their 16GB of on-board storage boosted by means of a microSD card.

The Xperia M4 Aqua hits the Indian market at the ₹24,990 ($390) mark, and customers will be able to select from the black, white and coral color configurations that also grace the U.K. market after the British launch of the device a few days ago. The Xperia C4, meanwhile, does not yet have a price tag, although given its clear similarities with the Xperia M4 Aqua, prospective buyers should take the waterproof handset's ₹24,990 cost as a guide.

The M4 Aqua is available to the Indian market as of today, while the C4 will become available at some point next month.
