Sony ceases to support PlayStation Mobile on Android 4.4.3 or newer
Sony just revealed that it will no longer support PlayStation Mobile on devices that run Android 4.4.3 or newer and some select features, such as store access and re-downloading content, might become “broken”. The company will only continue to cater for those supported devices that run Android 4.4.2 KitKat or any of its older iterations.

PlayStation Mobile allows PlayStation content to be downloaded and played on compatible, PlayStation-certified devices, such as a whole pleiad of Xperia smartphones, as well as select HTC representatives. Sony even removed the publishing fee that allegedly prevented certain game developers from releasing their titles on PlayStation Mobile.

Although this might have come like a bolt out of the blue for some, this move was not unexpected – Sony is currently prepping its PlayStation Now service and this probably has a lot to do with the dropped support for PlayStation Mobile. PlayStation Now, which is nothing but a cloud gaming service, got demoed back at CES 2014 and is expected to arrive sometime this summer.
