Sony Xperia XZ3 high-res press renders leaked ahead of IFA 2018 announcement
Sony Mobile is expected to unveil a brand new flagship tomorrow, August 30, the Xperia XZ3. Since we've already reported quite a few times about the upcoming top-tier phone, so the latest pictures leaked courtesy to Winfuture.de are just the cherry on top.

Design-wise, the Xperia XZ3 doesn't bring anything new, not even a notch. Sony's new “ambient flow” design language is once again ever present, but the curves seems a bit smoother this time. The Xperia XZ3's body is a mix of glass and metal, as it should be considering that we're talking about a top-of-the-line device.

One interesting design trick is visible on the back side of the phone where Sony added a cutout that looks like notch, probably for some sort of accessory that might be introduced along with the Xperia XZ3.

The high-res pictures come with info about Xperia XZ3's specs, which you might already be aware of. As expected, the phone will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.

The large 6-inch P-OLED display (made by JDI and Panasonic) features 2880 x1440 pixels resolution. There's also a 19-megapixel camera on the back side, and a 3,300 mAh battery inside.

Sony Xperia XZ3 will be available for purchase in multiple color options such as: Black, Silver White, Forest Green, and Bordeaux Red.

Love that green version, it's quite different. I miss the colorful Nokia Lumias from a few years ago.

I favor the Bordeaux color, but yes, the green is stunning.

hmm, seems like a weird variation on what they already have in the XZ2 lineup. though Sony did get new leadership this year so who knows. didn't expect a 6" phone; I thought my XZ2 was already getting up there in size. at least they aren't succumbing to the (stupid) notch trend. :)

This is the XA2, not XZ2.

Notch trend is the dumbest thing that has happened to mobile. It's like 15 years of smartphone design refinement meant nothing and people are happy to pay for a pile of dog poo.

Looks good. Even better, is that anyone not fiending for an AMOLED screen can get the XZ2 for a bit over $550 once this comes out. Same camera, soon to be same software, and the XZ2 will be a bit smaller.

Thought it was a Galaxy S9 for a second...

Nah. The bezels are way too big to make that mistake.

Way too big? I think that's a bit extreme...

I don't think they're too big. I just think they're too big to mistake for an S9.

It does look like it was heavily inspired by the Galaxy design.

Big bezels, 6" 1440p screen WITH A 3300mah BATTERY, 4gb of memory, awkward camera, sensor, flash placement with just one camera, low fingerprint scanner position, and NO HEADPHONE JACK. Why would anyone buy this?

Bcos its better than samsung.

Because it gets great software update support and the OS is not a travesty mixing up UX elements like Samsung and the Chinese do.

Because the only real drawback of everything you said is the lack of a headphone jack and the low fingerprint scanner placement.

And even then, the fingerprint scanner placement thing is subjective. I've never had a rear fingerprint scanner so the placement thing feels just fine to me. I have a 3T and it is similar in size to the XZ2...placing my finger where the Sony scanner would be feels no less natural than placing where everyone else places theirs...unless that place is where the S8 placed it!

Sony has been dying for a reason to charge a grand for a phone.
