A number of U.S. retailers are cutting prices of the Sony Xperia XZ2 by $100, and the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact by $50. With these cuts, the former is now $699.99 and the latter is $599.99. The retailers in the U.S. where you can pick up both models at the discounted prices include Amazon, B&H, and Best Buy. Both models were just launched two months ago.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2160. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform is under the hood, carrying an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 2.8GHz; the Adreno 630 GPU handles graphics. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of expandable storage (48GB available to the user). The 19MP Magic Eye rear camera offers 960fps slow motion, and the front-facing 5MP selfie snapper has a wide angle lens. Keeping the lights on is a 3180mAh battery, and the phone has an IP68 certification rating. Android 8.0 Oreo is pre-installed. Color options include Liquid Black, Deep Green, Ash Pink and Liquid Silver. And yes Virginia, finally there is a fingerprint sensor for U.S. owners.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has the same specs except it features a smaller 5-inch LCD panel, and a battery with a lower 2870mAh capacity. Color options include Black, Moss Green, Coral Pink and White Silver.
