Deal: Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact now costs $505 (or $549 with a $50 Best Buy gift card included)

About a month after making its US debut, the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact - one of the world's first smartphones to run Android 8 Oreo out of the box - is now almost $100 cheaper.

Amazon is currently offering the Xperia XZ1 Compact starting at $504.99 - $95 off the phone's launch price ($599.99). Only the black version of the XZ1 Compact is available for $504.99, while the other three color verstions - pink, blue, silver - cost $549.99.

Best Buy is discounting the Xperia XZ1 Compact, too, selling the phone for $549.99, regardless of color. Best Buy is throwing in a $50 gift card with each purchase, so you can actually save a total of $100 (of course, that $50 gift card is valid only at Best Buy, but at least you can use it whenever you want, as it has no expiration date).

Both Amazon and Best Buy are offering the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with US warranty for 1 year. The handset should be a good choice for anyone who doesn't like large devices, as it sports a 4.6-inch 720p display in a small, water-resistant body. Moreover, this phone is very powerful, thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor and plenty of other high-end features. You can find out more about the device from our Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact review.

Fortunately this small is small enough to not care about those bezels.

I'd rather get a phone with sizeable bezels but with excellent battery endurance than a bezeless phone with mediocre battery life.
