Sony Xperia T2 Ultra for T-Mobile allegedly passes the FCC
Sony’s Xperia T2 Ultra will be officially released in April, and the US might be among the markets that will get it next month.

As we told you not long ago, the new device should be launched by T-Mobile USA. An Xperia T2 Ultra variant with T-Mobile LTE (band 4) passed the FCC a few days ago. This particular handset has the model number D5316. As Xperia Blog notes, Sony smartphones that have model numbers ending in “16” are usually made for the fourth largest US carrier (the last one being the Xperia Z1S C6916, which is available at T-Mobile since January).

Of course, Sony has yet to confirm that it will introduce the Xperia T2 Ultra in the US. Anyway, in the light of the new FCC approval, we’re assuming that it won’t be long until we have a confirmation on this.

The Xperia T2 Ultra is a very large smartphone, or phablet - if you’re still not used to smartphones having humongous screens. Its features include a 6-inch 720p display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradeable to KitKat), 13MP rear camera, 1.1MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor. Unlike the Xperia Z1S or Xperia Z2, the T2 Ultra is not a waterproof device.
