SnapLock Android lock screen 3.0 puts a weather and calendar Dashboard side panel at a glance

Developer: SnappeaDownload: Android
Genre: Lock screenPrice: Free

Hey, remember SnapLock? It's one of the better Android lockscreen replacement apps out there. We covered it last October, but now it's January, and the folks that made it have been busy delivering more goods to their users. Thus, we present you the SnapLock 3.0 update. It adds a new Dashboard side panel to organize weather and calendar details for the user’s day. Consider this an efficient way to take a quick look at a substantial volume of condensed information without having to unlock your smartphone, saving time to do other stuff.

The Dashboard contains more detailed information: an hourly weather forecast, a schedule of calendar events, and five smart app shortcuts. It is accompanied by a Daily Forecast notification which the user receives at the start of each day, presenting weather and appointment data.

Of course, SnapLock 3.0 contains all the good stuff that makes the app great. Notifications from your favorite apps show up immediately on the front page. SnapLock's App Rhythm feature discovers which apps you use most at different times and primes up your lock screen with shortcuts to them. You can also make the screen really pretty with a selection of 500px wallpapers.

SnapLock is a free app, and users shall receive the update automatically.

It was a good until I noticed it sends a lot of information to chinese servers. I applied some iptables rules to stop it. I know it's a great alternative but I don't want it to send information without my authorization. You could also try AcDisplay, it's free and open source.
