While we continue to see some innovation in the smartphone industry with in-display fingerprint scanners, pop-up selfie cameras and new foldable form factors, the smartphone accessories business is also benefiting from new ideas. A company out of South Korea called Hurkins has developed a wireless charging smartphone stand called Bluesphere that not only offers what it calls "super fast" wireless charging, it also supports the phone allowing for hands-free use of the device.

Your phone is held in place without the use of clips, magnets or adhesives, and technology is used to prevent the handset from vibrating or shaking. The Bluesphere features 13W wireless charging at 9V, and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. And with three built-in axis spheres, you can customize how you wants the stand to be positioned. Besides allowing for hands-free use of the phone, the wireless charging capabilities of the product should help you remove the clutter of wires on the floor. There are multiple ways that the product can be installed. You can clamp it to a table, clamp it to a table near the bed, or use it as a stand.

Hurkins has been taking pre-orders for the accessory on Indiegogo. With 97% of the target $10,000 raised so far, and with 22 days left in the funding campaign, production of the Bluesphere seems like a lock. The wireless charging smartphone supporter is available in Silver and Black for $99. That is a 56% haircut from the $229 that the product will retail for once launched.

The company expects to start shipping Bluesphere this coming May.
