Screen size and resolution leak for the Sony Xperia G3112 and Xperia G3121

Last month, we told you that the Sony Xperia G 3112 and Xperia G3121 would be unveiled at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. The annual trade show will be held between February 27th and March 2nd. Today, more information about the two handsets was discovered on Weibo. The smaller of the two handsets will feature a 5-inch or 5.2-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The larger premium model will have a 5.5-inch display, and a 4K resolution.
We aren't sure if this is going to be similar to the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, which offers a 2160 x 3840 (4K) resolution for certain content, mostly media. The rest of the time, the screen has a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Sony said that it had to dial down the resolution at times in order to keep the battery life at two days. The Weibo post adds that this phone will sport 4GB of RAM.
This is all speculation for now, and we do suggest that you take this story with the proverbial grain of salt. Remember, there is plenty of time before MWC for more information to leak.

From their humble internal codes I was expecting these handsets to be low end or middle class. It looks like they are proper successors to the XZ and the Z5 Premium. For the moment I'm keeping my Z5 Premium and I'm skipping on the XZ and the Pixel XL that I was considering. Maybe this 5.5" 4K handset could make a good replacement for my Z5 P.

Finally 4 gigs of rams. kinda late tho, especially that 6gigs will be the norm in 2017. for the hefty prices sony usually charges, it should come with 6 gigs of ram.

Where I live the XZ costs around €50 less than the Galaxy S7 which is six months older. The prices are market dependent and the story of the expensive Sonys is largely a myth. The Z5 Premium was -when new- around €100 cheaper than the iPhone 6s Plus. The first X models where indeed very expensive for what they were, but other models like the previous Z5 series and the XZ are normally priced.

This is a wrong leak, well, according to me at least.. First of all the code 311XX doesn't match with any flagship code of sony.. Second, Sony releases flagships with or without a six months gap.. If we consider these phones flagships then, they should be released in the MWC not CES... Sony is not that dumb to release a new flagship in four months time... Unless they want to be like Chinese companies... cough .. cough.. Xiaomi

If Sony can go near bezeless like the mi mix, then I would be interested. But I know Sony love dem bezels and symmetry. Hell the mi mix with screen off is pretty much a wider z5 premium when u think about it. lol.

That's a terrible niche to have, do you know how easily the Mi MIX breaks? It has the worst durability of any flagship in 2016. Also the reason for it being Bezeless is its a gargantuan 6.4", beyond phablet size, its pretty much a tablet. Its almost 1" larger than the Z5 Premium, that's why it can be bezeless. You don't get dual stereo spakers, a great front cam or a back cam as good as an Xperia phone. I'm sure if Sony reduced the bezels on their phones, they would look even better but having no bezel at all on the top and sides is really concerning in many ways. A screen to body ratio of 80% would be highly appreciated though.
