How would you like to save $2.99 this week? If you use an iOS powered mobile device, you can save that money by downloading and installing Artie's Magic Pencil. That happens to be the iOS free app of the week. This could be considered a puzzle game for kids that requires the use of a magical pencil to rebuild Artie's city after a monster destroyed it.

Simple geographical shapes are used to rebuild the town as children learn how squares and triangles all work together to form the shapes that they see in every day life. With 25 objects to draw, the app develops fine motor and graphic skills, and is made for children ages 3 to 6. Kids can follow the storyline, or go back to redraw certain items as often as they wish.

Besides teaching the young-uns how to draw, the storyline helps teach them about altruism and empathy. It also shows them that in this world, you can get something for nothing, mainly the app!

And guess what folks, those of you with an Android device can also load the game on your mobile phone or tablet. The game is offered for free in the Google Play Store, with 99 cent in-app purchases available.

Download Artie's Magic Pencil for Android or iOS by clicking on the appropriate link. (iOS|Android). You can also view a video created by the developer, which shows you how to play. You can find the video at the top of this story.
