Samsung's new tablet line tipped to come with 4:3 screen aspect ratio
Just like the Apple iPad line and the Google Nexus 9, the upcoming new tablets from Samsung might feature a 4:3 aspect ratio. We heard last week that the company is about to reveal a set of new Android slates, the SM-T35x/SM-T55x and the SM-P35x/SM-P55x, with 8" and 9.7" displays, respectively.

The fondleslabs are rumored to launch with 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipsets, meaning that they will likely be midrange endeavors that won't break the bank for you. Deriving from that fact we can also conclude with reasonable certainty that the screen resolutions won't be anything like Quad HD, too, but their aspect ration might be 4:3 now, tipped insider sources.

Overall, the SM-T35x and the SM-T55x could be the 2015 editions of the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and the SM-P35x/SM-P55x duo could signal brand new midrangers in Samsung's tablet portfolio. entrants in the Galaxy Note tablet lineup.

4:3 is great!! I have been hated the ratio of the wide screen monitors.... I prefer the old ratio from the CRT monitors.

Agreed Or at least 3:2 for a better compromise, 4:3 is too narrow

Now developers will be forced to design two different UIs; one for 16:9 phones, another for 4:3 tablets. That's just stupid. Android tablets already have next to no apps designed in particular for them.

Aren't these mid range 64 performing less then last two or three iterations of 32s? Wtf, these better be cheap cheap. Seems like fodder to me with extra slowness.

Finally! I'm done with 16:9. Black bars are no deal-breakers for me, plus web browsing is going to be way more comfortable, so I am loving to hear these news!

Finally...i dont know what manufacturer was that stupid to put 16:9 into phones and tablets as first one and others followed that stupid trend...iPads have it good, also i was more happy with my first NOTE 1 with 1280x800 (16:10)...i would be happy if my Note 8 would have 4:3 and not 16:10 with 1280x800. I watch 16:9 movies on my devices only when i stream it to TV. Short videos OK, i watch on phone/tablet - but never spent 2 hours starring at the small screen of tablet/phone to watch a full movie.

Sammy can't resist 4:3 and they will follow nokia and MiPad's decision to go 4:3. Oh well that is iPad mini and iPad air right? They could just jump into the ipad pro space at 12in. They should sell these stuff super cheap to sell well.

Arrrggg!! I really hate the 4:3 screens. They make sense for 10 inches or so, but in 8 inches I would rather have a 3:2 or even a 16:10... I hope someone will keep the sanity to create models like that. 4:3 gets too wide and difficult to grab with one hand (at least for me).

I'm with you on that. Portability feels hand in hand with 16:9/16:10. Also slips in coat mickey pockets easier.
