Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 won't get the new One UI experience

Samsung is taking it to another level with the announcement of the new One UI (user interface) experience, which is expected to make its debut early next year on a couple of flagship smartphones.

Unveiled yesterday, alongside the new Samsung foldable screen called Infinity Flex Display, One UI is a much cleaner user interface, which was developed in partnership with Google and the Android developer community.

During the unveiling, Samsung was pretty clear about the availability of the new One UI and said that it will be offered as an Open Beta starting November for users in the United States, Germany, and South Korea.

The handset maker also confirmed the final version of the Samsung One UI will be launched on the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 in January 2019, along with the long-awaited Android Pie update.

Unfortunately, flagships like the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 will not receive the new Samsung One UI, Tom's Guide reports. If that's the case, we can safely assume only the most recent Samsung flagships will receive the new cleaner software experience, unless the South Korean company has a change of heart.
