Galaxy S10/S10+ pre-orders massively outperforming Galaxy S9/S9+ in China: tipster

Galaxy S10/S10+ pre-orders massively outperforming Galaxy S9/S9+ in China: tipster
The Samsung Galaxy S10+

Although Samsung hasn’t yet commented on Galaxy S10 pre-order numbers publicly, things are looking positive for the South Korean brand.

Just days into the pre-order period, shipment dates were pushed back – typically a sign of strong sales. Then, Samsung was forced to offer a $130 reward with pre-orders because it had run out of Galaxy Buds to ship. More recently, certain Galaxy S10 carrier models have completely sold out. And it now seems as though this success may have extended to China.

According to tipster Ice Universe, who has a pretty good track record, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ pre-orders are performing extremely well in China. So well, in fact, that the number of Galaxy S10/S10+ devices sold within the first two hours of Chinese pre-orders is allegedly equal to twice the number of Galaxy S9/S9+ units sold during the first day.

In recent times, Samsung has been struggling to compete in China due to pressure from local competitors. But over the past few months, the company has introduced a number of new devices aimed at local consumers. In fact, its new Galaxy A series is rumored to have been designed entirely by its Chinese design time.

Ultimately, only time will tell if Samsung’s recent changes are enough to kick start growth in China once again. But if these Galaxy S10 numbers are accurate, Samsung could have a pretty bright future in the market.

Samsung brought the noise with this years S10 lineup, and to think, the best is yet to come. Note 10 looms. I'm impressed with the S10, and I hope Apple, Huawei and others keep the heat on Samsung. Look how all this competition is making these OEM's give us better devices. 2019 looks great already.

Soooooo you work for Samsung and you're already leaking the price of the phone or are you just assuming that it's going to cost $2,000 but you really don't know what you're talking about?

I already knew I wanted the Note 10 late last year when most of the rumors for the S10 were confirmed, but seeing the S10+ in person has all but peaked my excitement for it.

Hopefully. When I first got my Note 8 I could go 48 hours without needing a charge (on a few occasions but still). Now it's about 16. I want excellent battery life for the duration of my home with the phone.

No go. I'm waiting for the S11+. I hear it's going to have a laser screen that projects on any surface and lets you type like a regular scissor-type keyboard... and a laser vibrator/ejaculator for those kinky types. :-(

I agree but I had to get the S10+ due to the new tech and changes with the form factor. My note 9 feels and looks out dated now lol. Since I got it for half price I don't feel bad for trading it in and getting the s10+ for $449. Then I'll just trade that in for the Note 10 since it's looking like the base model will eclipse the $999 price tag. Now I just gotta decide which foldable I'm going to pick up...

Forget Samsung and all phones with ugly notches, teardrops, etc. Give me an Oppo or something without a notch and a good night time and telephoto camera, OK.

Samsung's marketshare in China is like 1%. Using last year's pre-order as baseline is a complete useless -- twice of nothing is still nothing.
