Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 gets its Android 4.4 KitKat update starting today
The relatively old Samsung Galaxy Note II is finally getting a taste of Android 4.4 KitKat! According to SamMobile, an official update is being rolled out to Note II users in France starting today (via Kies). We’re assuming that folks in other countries will also receive the update shortly. Just to be clear, we’re talking about the international Samsung Galaxy Note II model here: the GT-N7100.

We don’t know when carrier-specific variants of the Galaxy Note II will receive the update. But we hope it will happen soon. Sprint, for example, already confirmed that its Note II would get KitKat later this year. This probably means that Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile will also update their Note IIs at some point. Meanwhile, several screenshots showing Android 4.4.2 running on the Note II N7100 can be seen in the slideshow below.

We’re expecting Samsung to bring Android 4.4 KitKat to other older devices, including the Galaxy S III, in the near future. Stay tuned for more details from the magical realm of Softwareupdateland.
