Samsung isn't slowing down even though we're just one month away from the end of the year. A new budget-friendly Android smartphone is expected to be unveiled very soon, an updated version of the Galaxy J5 Prime.

We reported about the new Galaxy J5 Prime last month when the smartphone, also known as Samsung SM-G571, was spotted at FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Now we have more details about what it brings to the table thanks to a leaked specs sheet.

Apparently, the Galaxy J5 Prime (2017), or whatever the name Samsung will use, is going to ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. Also, don't expect an Oreo update since this is just an entry-level handset.

Under the hood, the upcoming smartphone hides a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, a Mali-T720 GPU (graphics processing unit), 3GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. The Galaxy J5 Prime (2017) is going to offer decent photographic skills thanks to its 13-megapixel rear-facing and 8-megapixel selfie cameras.

Moreover, a fingerprint sensor is positioned on the front side, under the home button. The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS HD (720p) display and a non-removable 2,500 mAh battery, which should be enough for at least two days of average usage.

Not sure when exactly the Galaxy J5 Prime (2017) will be announced, but Samsung may use different names for the smartphone when it will be introduced on the market.
