Samsung showcases yet another smart speaker that might never be launched
Samsung seems to be undecided about whether or not it's worth entering the smart speaker market, and the main reason is probably the state of Bixby, its proprietary digital assistant that's arguably inferior to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Of course, Samsung could always launch a smart speaker with support for multiple personal assistants, so it seems that it's a matter of self-pride rather than anything else. Last year, the South Korean giant revealed its first-ever smart speaker, the Galaxy Home, which hasn't been released on the market yet.

Although Samsung officials confirmed the smart speaker will eventually make it to market, we have yet to see it happen. Now SamMobile reports Samsung showcased a second smart speaker at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019, the Galaxy Home Mini.

It's not the first time the name Galaxy Home Mini is mentioned in the news, but it's the first time we see it in the flesh. Obviously, this is a smaller and cheaper version of the Galaxy Home, the smart speaker that Samsung introduced back in 2018.

The Galaxy Home Mini is powered by AKG sound and features Bixby support, and these are the only details we've been able to learn about the smart speaker. At this point, we can't even trust Samsung when it says that these smart speakers will eventually be released, but at least we know the company did not abandon the idea yet.
