Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 put up for pre-order at Best Buy
After popping up in Amazon UK's database, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 is now up for pre-order in the US, courtesy of Best Buy. The Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet can be reserved in exchange for $470 for its 16GB variant, or $570 if you prefer having 32 gigabytes of storage. Thankfully, the wait until the tablet arrives to your doorstep should not be long as its estimated arrival date is set in between September 25 and September 30.

Save for the smaller, 8.9-inch display, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 is pretty much identical to its bigger brother – the GALAXY Tab 10.1. Under its hood ticks a 1GHz Tegra 2 chipset acompanied by a gig of RAM. Its display boasts a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, and a duo of cameras, a 3-megapixel in the back and a 2-megapixel one in the front, will come in handy when you need to capture a special moment, or you simply feel like having a video chat with a friend. The tablet-optimized Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, which comes out of the box, is what is in charge of the whole show.

Before you take out your credit card, however, bear in mind that an LTE model of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 was announced officially not long ago, so if being hooked up to the Internet at all times is a priority, you might want to wait for that one to hit the shelves, or consider getting the slightly bigger, 10.1-inch LTE model from Verizon. On the other hand, if patience is something you don't have much of, and if 8.9 inches is the size that suits you most, feel free to check out Best Buy's offer by hitting one of the links below.
