Results: Note FE vs Note 8 - here's which one you like more!
by Preslav Kateliev / Aug 28, 2017, 9:13 AM
About a month or so ago, Samsung released the so-called Galaxy Note Fan Edition. A re-re-launched Galaxy Note 7, with the same hardware, design, and safe battery, only available in limited numbers and, apparently, only meant for Sammy's home market over at South Korea. Yeah, many were confused at Samsung's decision to launch any type of Note so close to the Note 8's release, but the fact that the launch was so limited makes the Note FE's existence look a little less baffling.
So, what are the differences? The Note FE has last year's Snapdragon 821 and 4 GB of RAM. But hey, it has a physical home button with a fingerprint scanner on the front. The Note 8 has the top-notch Snapdragon 835, 6 GB of RAM, the dual camera, and the new 18.5:9 aspect ratio... but also a rather hefty price tag and a weirdly placed fingerprint scanner.
We thought we'd ask you — if you were able to buy both, which one would you go for? Here's how that poll went:
Would you buy a Note FE or Note 8?
Note FE for sure!
Note 8 of course!

The note 8's price is unjustifiable. Even the iPhone didn't reach this level of pricing. Samsung dropped the ball with this one.

i spent £819 on my iPhone 7+ and the Note 8 is £869. If I wasn’t so invested in the Apple ecosystem I’d switch right over but I’ve got about £100 of apps and a few other reasons as to why I’d want to stay. I’d say the price of phones in general has gone a bit whack but profit margins drive innovation.

Most of those apps you will find for free on Android(and don't listen bs that are not as good as on iOS) But with Note and S Pen you will find a new world with apps, that will never be or work good on iOS. S Pen is not only for jotting or for artists, as the media say. It's fully capable mouse and more

"Most of those apps you will find for free on Android" And that's because people would pirate them.. "(and don't listen bs that are not as good as on iOS)" They aren't. As a prominent user of both platforms, Android apps are usually far less polished and far more uninspired. "But with Note and S Pen you will find a new world with apps," Bruh... what? "that will never be or work good on iOS." Samsung could sell you s**t and call it a fudge sundae. Seriously, do you even hear yourself right now? "S Pen is not only for jotting or for artists, as the media say." Oh God... what sexual misconducts are you performing with that pen? "It's fully capable mouse and more" I'm pretty sure it's none of that... at all.

As a very prominent user of android and iOS. I respectfully disagree that Apps are more polished on iOS than Android for the simple reason of requiring onscreen menu buttons and back typically due to the fact apple doesn't have a separate system level button to go back Also you will find a lot of instances where popular apps do not function well on one platform over the other. (See Trello for an example. It's a mess on iOS enough for my wife to not use trello on her 7+ anymore because of the stutters and responsiveness) As for S pen, it's a boatload more precise way of interacting with the smartphone than say a finger I actually use my pen a lot during phone calls, jotting down memos to look at later

I found that most of the apps are very parallel to pricing on iOS vs android. Some are actually cheaper on iOS some are cheaper on android - you're not being helpful by lying. Plus you don't know which apps he has - you can't claim what you said. -- Nopers, here's what I found out from switching - game progression very easy to switch even if you spent on IAP's. So don't worry there, the only problems I ran into was apps and games that don't exist on android (or iOS) in that case you need to find comparable utility apps that you may need. Likewise you'll find that android and iOS have their native features that will take care some of the needs you compensated by apps on whatever platform you're switching from - so that may save you a few bucks. When I moved from iPhone 5s - I asked for refunds from some recent apps that I invested in knowing I wouldn't use that anytime soon. Apple had no issues refunding my money for any reason. I had a biology app that I had to pay $40 for with couple IAP, I got a refund for it all a year later - as it was not available on android. (I know that was a cheap ass way to deal with it - but I'm not as rich as most of you guys claim - I promised myself to reinvest if I can ever afford an iPhone again). A few camera apps, that I just paid to remove ads and android didn't have the add free versions anyway - so it just using the version they had but with ads. The rest are apps I haven't used in a year or so. So I'm not missing them much.

LOL! The only thing that is good on note 8 are as follows: 1. Same display as the galaxy s8+ 2. Has two Camera lens. 3. It has the same features as the galaxy S8+. Only difference is the stylus. If the iphone 8's price is gonna be above $1,000 mark. Here's the ff. reasons: 1. It will have 120hz pro motion display which is already been used on the newest ipad pro 2017. 2. 512GB internal storage. 3. Triple speaker system. 4. Dual camera system with AR capabilities. 5. It will be the first phone to have 90% extreme screen to body ratio.

You truly think they'd give users 512GB? I'd expect 128 or 256GB tops. And who truly cares for speakers on a phone, stereo speakers 2 inches apart doesn't make sound all much better. Headphones make for great sound. And as for the Ratio, Isn't the Essential Phone more screen than i8 is expected to be?

Gonna disagree on the stereo speakers. I've had phones with dual stereo, and it does sound better. Heck, even dual mono front facing would be better than one on the bottom. But I want true stereo, not the half-assed iPhone stereo.
