Razer Phone 3 might still be on track for a 2019 release
Despite the fact that it laid off or relocated most of its mobile division staff, Razer is still betting on gaming smartphones. New reports indicate that the company is working to bring yet another gaming handset on the market by the end of the year.

It's unclear whether or not the reorganization of the mobile division will have any negative impact on the development of the company's third smartphone, but industry sources claim the Razer Phone 3 is still on track for a 2019 release, Digitimes reports.

Although gaming smartphones remain niche products, Chinese handset makers continue to support the segment with new releases each year. The most recent gaming smartphone announced, Xiaomi's Black Shark 2 is only available in China, which leaves a lot of consumers looking for such niche products up for grabs.

If Razer does indeed manage to launch its third gaming smartphone by the end of 2019, it will have an easier time competing with the likes of Xiaomi, Vivo, and Nubia in the United States, especially that the first two don't sell their phones in this market yet.

But as more smartphone vendors decided to go the gaming phone route, this niche-market segment might get crowded and competitive very fast.

If true I hope it has a 18:9 screen

I hope not. The only reason that makes me to like this phone is the screen. I don't like the "revolutionary screen ratio" 18:9 or another ratio. You can buy what do you want, but I can buy just Razer because it;s the last phone manufacturer who makes the classic screen ratio 16:9. So keep your opinion for you.
