PlayStation app update improves its video and live streaming capabilities

Sony has updated its PlayStationcompanion app for Android and iOS with improved support for video andlive streaming. A new feature, called Live from PlayStation, lets theuser watch ongoing PS4 game streams from his or hers PSN friends viaTwitch.tv and UStream feeds. Sony also added support for video andnotifications from the PS Store. They are displayed inside the app's"What's New" section. Also, the update squashes some bugsand resolves several stability issues.



The PlayStation app itself lets theuser chat with PSN friends, receive notifications, game alerts, andinvitations to game. It also has the ability to turn your mobiledevice to an on-screen keyboard for a PS4 console. The PlayStationstore can be accessed and games or other content can be bought on thego and immediately pushed to a PS4 connected to the internet. The appties seamlessly with one's PSN account and PS4 system, bringingSony's vision of nothing standing between the gamer and the gamespretty close to reality.
