Pick up the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ in the U.S. right now from Samsung and Best Buy
Last month, Samsung started accepting pre-orders for the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ in the U.S. Fast forward to today at warp speed, and both unlocked models are now available for purchase from Samsung's online store, or from Best Buy. The pair are being offered at full retail pricing, which means handing over $724.99 for the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8, or $824.99 for the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+.

Purchase either handset from Best Buy or Samsung, and you will be given the option to buy the Gear 360 VR headset for only $49. The unlocked version of either phone is compatible with all four major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. Both phones will also work with prepaid SIM kits for Verizon Wireless Prepaid, Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, H2O, GoPhone and Simple Mobile.

With the unlocked version of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, you can be assured that no carrier bloatware will be found on your device. For many consumers, that alone is a good reason to go with an unlocked model, although we should mention that Midnight Black is the only color available for these SIM free handsets.

Nothing matches it right now, till the Note 8 drops. Everything you said about it was spot on. Never lags, best battery life of any phone I've owned (my 7 Plus included), the design is to die for, unbelievable camera, iris scanner, secure folder, I could go on and on. I'm so glad I got one, and didn't wait till the Note 8.

"Never lags" You're an idiot. The S8 definitely lags.

If it's not noticeable to the user (and I will concur, we have an S8 and S8 + here), there's nothing to argue here. Move along.

Samsung did an amazing job on the S8. Outside of a few small first edition device bugs, it's flawless. Mine has had no issues, other than 1 random reboot, 1 Facebook crash, and that's it. I've never owned a device that's been this solid, even my 7 Plus can't touch it's consistency. I'm going to tell it like it is, no brand loyalty, no reason to lie. Flat out, the S8 Plus is the best phone I've owned to date. Fanboys like Lundberg, cnour, bankz, phonehex (aka phoenix2) and nctx will haye as usual, but it is what it is.

Even though it's gimped by a sealed battery, and shattering glass, I agree that the S8 is the best option AT THIS TIME. The V20 was just too wide for my tastes, and the G6 is a failure for the sealed battery and glass. (Yes, I've owned all 3.)

I was going to buy this unlocked US version but i remembered my trouble with the unlocked SGS7edge Olympic Edition. I cough up good change for it only to get super late software updates from Samsung. Samsung, you are not getting any money from me any soon if you do not change your update policy. For me to think about another Samsung phone i need to see consistent updates coming way in advance of US carriers (like the international version) but i won't buy the international version for the lack of warranty ...

IT'S A TRAP!!! Agreed. I was one of the schmucks who paid the highest price for an unlocked S7 Edge and received the least updates. We were all last in line. Don't fall for it.
