OnePlus still mum on Android Nougat update for the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X, what gives?

Chinese company OnePlus has been in the spotlight since Google released Android 7.0 Nougat thanks to the flow of updates it provided to customers owning the OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones.

However, it looks like by focusing all its resources on getting updates for its latest high-end phones, the company forgot its promise to OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X owners, who have yet to receive the long-awaited Android Nougat update.

Disgruntled OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X users have kicked off a new Thunderclap campaign with the purpose of making OnePlus listen to their voices. Since June 2016, when the Chinese company said the OnePlus 2 would be getting Android Nougat at some point, there has been no news on the development of the update.

OnePlus has already been made aware of the Thunderclap campaign since multiple threads have been posted on the company's forum, yet there's still no official answer that would at least allow customers to hope for the update.

It's been four months since the OnePlus 3 and 3T received Android Nougat updates, so perhaps it's time for OnePlus to turn its attention to those who bought its older OnePlus 2 and X phones.

Didn't OnePlus already announce that the OnePlus X was receiving Marshmallow and that's it? I am 100% sure they said there isn't gonna be a Nougat update for the X.

OnePlus X was a great phone. Really wish OnePlus would release a new 5" phone.

What do you expect from a shonky Chinese company that's aim is to under cut everyone. That comes at a cost of after sales support and service. If you want ongoing updates buy an iPhone.

My galaxy note 5 is still on marshmallow

Nougat was released for Note 5 on Sprint. At this point it's down to the carrier to give you the update, not Samsung.

This is not just about Nougat updates. If you read the Thunderclap article it's very clear that noone expects N for the X, SD801 is not supported. It is, however, about how Oneplus have "promised" a lot and failed to deliver on N for the OP2, a decent fix for the camera of the OPX, bug ridden from the get go and more. And yet they just completely ignore users of these devices. It's all well and good supporting the 3/3T, extremely well I might add, but ignoring the very community, which they're always boasting about by the way, that helped them get to where they are today is, to say the least, disappointing.

OnePlus X won't receive Nougat, as Qualcomm does not have the necessary drivers for the Nougat update. It's out of OnePlus's hands. Now, OP has no excuse for the lack of update on the OnePlus 2, however.

Seeing as to how most manufactures haven't updated SD801 phone to Nougat I don't see why its a problem if OnePlus doesn't update the 1+X to Nougat. I was resigned to that fact when it was announced that Nougat wasn't meant for the 801 chipset. Could always install a custom ROM. I do see where 1+2 users are coming from though.

Just let these devices die please, OnePlus 2 was a disaster thanks to SD810 and the OnePlus X is just the OnePlus One on life support.
