OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 are being updated to Android Nougat starting today

Last month, OnePlus said that it would update the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 to Android Nougat before the end of the year. The year is ending today, and, thankfully, an official Nougat update is indeed coming to the two smartphones.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed (via Twitter) that a stable Android Nougat update is ready, and will be gradually rolled out, over the air, to the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 "later tonight." Since we're talking about an over the air update, it's likely that not all OnePlus 3 and 3T owners will receive it today. But the update is coming, and everyone will probably get it in a few days the latest.

If you just can't wait for the stable release, and you know how to install a software update manually, a beta Nougat build is currently available to download via OnePlus' official forum. However, this particular beta is only for the OnePlus 3T - the OnePlus 3 is not included. For more details, check out the second source link below.

Hope it's not a buggy and rushed one, just for the sake of keeping the promise.

They probably will but who cares? Samsung users will have to wait as usual well OnePlus 3 users can enjoy Nougat now, or earlier if they use the community build. Plus it's near stock Android with 6GB of memory so better performance the Pixel phones for app loading speeds and multitasking. :-) Samsung still have a long way to get to optimise touchwiz or whatever they call it now before it's close to stock performance.

That's why I don't have a problem giving the little guys a chance. This OnePlus 3T is awesome, and to think I'm getting N before Samsung's flags? People have no reason to rag on OnePlus...they do what they say.

So glad I switched to an iPhone this year. Nougat came out on August 22nd..... If I were to go back to android the only option for me would be a Pixel XL
