Nokia makes fun of Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom with perfectly placed mobile ad
Nokia plays a mean game of one upmanship. What the Finnish based manufacturer did to Samsung is hilarious, but at the same time it is a perfectly good business tactic. It seems that in the U.K., Korean OEM Samsung had put up a billboard extolling the virtues of the camera-centric Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. The ad reads "Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, the only smartphone with 10X optical zoom," which apparently got the marketing guys at Nokia thinking.
Parking a mobile billboard truck at just the right spot, Nokia put up an ad for the Nokia Lumia 1020, which is the Windows Phone 8 flavored smartphone with a 41MP PureView camera on back. Passers-by probably did a double take when they read the complete message including what Nokia added.
After adding Nokia's contribution, the two billboards combine to read, "Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, the only smartphone with 10X optical zoom, still, it didn't see this coming...The Nokia Lumia 1020: exceptional zoom without the exceptional bulk."
Come to think of it, that's another shot at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom which sports a pretty big camera hump. Let's see if Samsung can grab back control of this street corner.
