Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 launch accompanied by a stunning marketing campaign in India
Wow, Nokia's marketing department knows no rest! So far, we have seen giant Lumia handsets, free Xbox 360 bundles, private concerts, and the list of publicity stunts keeps on growing. The Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 were made available for purchase in India today, and the company is putting quite an effort in ensuring that the launch grabs the audience's attention.

In particular, the marketing campaign that accompanies the release of the two smartphones is said to be the biggest one that Nokia has launched in India to date. The campaign includes dance performances, musical events, helicopter and luxury car rides for customers, cricket games with famous cricketers, parasailing sessions, and much more.

The Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 are the company's first two Windows Phone devices – the result of a partnership with Microsoft that was signed and sealed earlier this year. If Nokia is to succeed on a market dominated by Android handsets and the iPhone, effectively promoting its fresh breed of smartphones will be crucial. But will clever advertising ideas, such as the iced Nokia Luma 800, be enough for the Finnish manufacturer to succeed? Only time will tell.

Obviously... Nokia enjoys a cult following here like the i-phone in the US... Every 1... AND I DO MEAN EVERY1 will have nokia as the most trusted cellphone manufacturer. Most people will not care about windows phone or the metro ui or the no of. Apps... They will see the nokia logo and buy it.

A big marketing gimmick by Nokia and i pray innocent people don't fall prey to it... I did 3 years ago with the 5800 and i have never looked back at Nokia... What a shame got crappy software and hardware... Verdict: FAIL!

Instead of spending so much on Aggressive marketing, Nokia should have cut some cost and reduced the price of lumia 800 in India, Rs 29,990 is very steep price, considering that Samsung Galaxy S2 is selling for about Rs 27,000 in India................... It's true they are Market leader in India but Samsung and other mobile manufacturers are eating into Nokia's Marketshare for past few years by launching phones with competitive price......... To maintain their lead over other manufacturers Nokia should have launched lumia 800 with some great offers in India, like free Xbox 360.............. anyways most of the people over here don't know abt. OS running on the phones, nd they make purchase based on the looks, battery, build quality, camera, multimedia capabilities, call and messaging capabilities; and Nokia Is always best in all of these departments so I thnk at least Lumia 710 will sell pretty well over here.......
