New teasers hint at strong build quality, good camera and long battery life for the Xiaomi Mi 4i
On April 23rd at 2pm local time in New Delhi, Xiaomi is expected to make its first new product announcement outside of China. All indications are that the company will unveil a global version of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 on that date. Called the Xiaomi Mi 4i, this handset is a slightly lower spec'd version of the Mi 4. Xiaomi is calling it a global handset because of the extended 4G LTE network support. Still, it doesn't mean that this model will be offered in the U.S. or Europe. Xiaomi has continued to post teasers for the event that tell us to expect a high build quality, good camera (or a good display) and long battery life for the new model.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i has already gone through the GFXBench benchmark test, which helped to reveal some of the specs on the phone. We're looking for the Mi 4i to be equipped with a 4.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. Under the hood is a 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 615 CPU with the Adreno 405 GPU handling graphics. 2GB of RAM is on board with 16GB of native storage. Back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 5MP, respectively. There is support for dual SIM cards and Android 5.0.2 is pre-installed with MIUI 6 on top.

One country that should benefit from the additional 4G LTE support for the Xiaomi Mi 4i is Malaysia. The new phone is expected to support the 2600MHz band used for LTE in the country, something that the Mi 4 does not do. In Malaysia, the Mi 4i could be priced at less than the equivalent of $276 USD.
