New BlackBerry handset (BBD100-1) receives its Bluetooth certification

New BlackBerry handset (BBD100-1) receives its Bluetooth certification
Back in June, reliable tipster Evan Blass sent out a tweet stating that BlackBerry has as many as two new handsets planned, carrying the code names Juno and Krypton. At the time, that was all of the information that could be found about these handsets. Today, a BlackBerry phone with the model number BBD100-1 received its Bluetooth certification from the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group).

Based on rumored specs, the BBD100-1 could be another model in the DTEK line up. Designed and manufactured by TCL under a license procured from BlackBerry, the models currently sporting the DTEK name include the mid-range DTEK50 and the high-end DTEK60. Both of these are "all touch" designs without a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Based on a UAprof found in June, the BBD100-1 will be powered by the Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 626 chipset. While the handset's screen size is unknown, it will feature a 1080 x 1920 (FHD) resolution. The device will be equipped with 4GB of RAM. The certification from the Bluetooth SIG reveals that the model will come with Bluetooth 4.2, and runs on software version AAN469. And the certification does show that TCL is the manufacturer of the phone.

We have no word on when to expect this new 'Berry to be made official. Even with the Bluetooth certification done, it still could be some time before this new BlackBerry handset sees the light of day.

So it will be a midrange device with a premium price? This is not going to end well for BlackBerry.

It's not going to end well for you either way, you're not in the market for a Blackberry branded device anyways.

Lol, so true. He can't help but spam BlackBerry articles with his trolling rhetoric. It's his life's mission to bash everything that's not Apple related, and this is also the only way he gets the attention he craves because he didn't get it from mommy and daddy. I mean seriously, who in their right mind spends their life bashing things they've never used, and don't plan on ever using?

But remember when he admitted the only reason he trolls BlackBerry articles is because he's salty over the fact that you like them so much? Talk about sad...

By the way: posted on18 Mar 2017, 04:49 22. Mxyzptlk (unregistered) Well I wouldn't have a problem with BB10 if meanest would stop being so dramatic about it. That's from here:https://www.phonearena.com/news/BlackBerry-10.3.3-is-causing-problems-for-BlackBerry-10-handsets_id92148 That's you in your mxyzptlk account admitting to having a problem with BlackBerry 10 because you feel I'm dramatic about it. That's basically the same thing that aegislash pointed out, so YOU stop with the lies and BS.

Yup, sure do! But as you can see, his sad @$$ is still trying to deny it, even though it's forever signed in digital ink for all to see.

This guy calls himself a blackberry fan, an alpha geek, yet he can't even spell blackberry correctly. Oh my, he has exposed my "ulterior motive." Well the secret is out folks. I have a vendetta against everything that is Apple. Forget about the fact that I don't even have an iPhone as my daily driver. Forget about the fact that I'm anxiously awaiting the Pixel. No, meanestgenius knows it all. Nothing gets past his VAST intellect. Before he gets giddy and creams himself with his megalomaniac mind, that was me being sarcastic. You and your multiple aliases have no idea what I plan to use or not use.

Lol, says mxyzflashmxy2starkmite, the troll that clearly doesn't even know how to use punctuation correctly. Um, don't you mean "vendetta against everything that is *not Apple?" You're welcome. Cut the BS, you're not anxiously awaiting any Android phone, let alone the Pixel, unless it's to troll it. And your trolling, lies, and BS certainly don't get past me. I'm too smart for that, as you have just acknowledged. Lol, you're not being sarcastic. You're feverishly backtracking because you just sht yourself for admitting the truth. You're the only one in this comments section with multiple aliases, and you admitted it with your own Flash account, mxyzptlk. And you're certainly not ever going to use a BlackBerry device, and that's a fact.

Can't even make a comment without people getting butthurt. Calm down and take a deep breath. It's just an opinion.

Can't even have a decent BlackBerry article without you trolling on through and spamming the comments section with your bashing that you hide behind the word opinion.

"Calm down and take a deep breath. It's just an opinion." I would ask you politely on why you don't apply this when someone comments his negative opinion in an Apple article?

According to the head of global sales at TCL, this device could see an October launch. Got that from the source article (CrackBerry). This is probably an all touch version of the BlackBerry KEYone.

Interesting. So are you're saying this will have more Blackberry designed hardware dna as opposed to TCL/Alcatel?

It might be a cool device if TCL just augmented BB's KEYone design into an all touch device. My question to him was an honest one based on the way his opinion is worded in the second part of his post.

No. It will have some things similar to the KEYone, like internals, and possibly the camera. It may look like either a KEYone with no keyboard, or be closer to the look of the DTEK devices.

Says the jack@$$ that has yet to provide a link backing up jus conjecture about the Galaxy S8 being the reason fir the initial KEYone delay. Buy the way, don't think I didn't notice you copying my vocabulary, like "conjecture" and "duly noted" (you used it in another article, not BlackBerry related). I must really be leaving a good impression you, what with me taking up so much space in your head.

For you it needs to come from the horse's a$$. That's all you understand. You have no intention of ever owning a BlackBerry yet you're always on every BB article to spew your endless drivel about carrier unlocking and launch failures. Change the channel already, you've inspired a fresh crop of defenders to curb your diatribe because they're getting sick of the same crap on a daily basis. No amount of faux accounts can save you now, there's too many eyes on you.
