Motorola confirms Android Wear 2.0 is coming to the Moto 360 2nd Gen “as early as today”

The original Moto 360 is one of the few popular smartwatches that won't be getting the new Android Wear 2.0 update, Motorola announced last year.

The bad news is the sequel to the Moto 360 hasn't yet received the update, even though many other less popular smartwatches have already been upgraded to Android Wear 2.0. However, the situation is about to change if we are to believe the latest statement coming directly from Motorola.

As some of you probably know by know by now, Motorola promised to push the Android Wear 2.0 update to the Moto 360 2nd Gen in “late May.” Since we're less than a week away, people starting asking the US-based company what's happening with the update.

Today, Motorola Support replied to a customer who asked when he should expect Android Wear 2.0 to arrive on its Moto 360 2nd Gen: “Happy to report that Android Wear 2.0 will start rolling out in phases on Moto 360 2nd Gen, possibly as early as today.”

In the same piece of news, Motorola confirmed the Moto 360 Sport is slated for an Android Wear 2.0 upgrade as well, but it has not ETA for the update yet.
