Motorola and Nikko announce a new remote control toy car operated by cellphones

Motorola Inc. and Nikko have collaborated to develov a new Wireless Wheels remote control toy car, which is controlled by select models of Motorola iDEN mobile phones. The iDEN handset can replace traditional remote controls via the Motorola iDEN phone attachment, based on the Freescale Semiconductor wireless Personal Area Network (PAN) technology. The mobile device together with the Wireless Wheels radio controlled toy car allows users to follow the movements of the car through animation on the display. The users are also enabled to hear the engine start, the tires squeal as well as feel the phone vibrate in their hand just like the steering wheel of a race car. Moreover, they can use the Push-To-Talk button to give a sudden burst of speed. The Motorola iDEN phones, which can be used to operate the Wireless Wheels toy car, running on 4 AA batteries, are - i265, i275, i560, i730, i760, i830, i850, i860, and i870.
