Mophie Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 is official, boosts battery life by 80%

It might not be the first extended battery case for iPhone 5, but it might just be the one many of you have been waiting for. The Mophie Juice Pack Helium is now official, and everyone eager to get one can pre-order it via its maker's web site.

What makes this iPhone 5 accessory so special? Well, Mophie claims that the Juice Pack Helium is its most advanced battery case yet – thinner and lighter than previous generations. It has a thickness of 0.59 inches (15 millimeters) and holds a 1,500mAh cell that can last through at least 500 charge cycles. With its help, your iPhone 5 should last about 80% longer, which means you'll be getting 6 more hours of talk time or web surfing on LTE, or 30 extra hours of music playback. Naturally, it keeps the iPhone 5 safe from wear and tear. 

The Mophie Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 is on sale for 24 hours and can be pre-ordered for $80. Its dark metallic variant will ship by February 14, while the silver-colored model should be out in March.
