Microsoft cuts Surface RT price today, you can get it for $349
Microsoft has now officially cut the price of its Surface RT tablet down to $349 for the basic version and it’s a great deal on a product that has gotten mixed review partly because of its high price. You can get the discounted device on the Microsoft Store in different countries. The Surface RT originally sold for $150 more, or $499 for the 32GB basic model without a keyboard.

The Surface RT tablet comes with gorgeous magnesium alloy body that is also sturdy. This is the version of the tablet that runs on Windows RT, the limited version of Microsoft’s Windows platform. Windows RT does not support legacy Windows apps (except for the Office suite baked into the Surface RT).

The price for the Surface RT has been cut for Europe as well. There you can buy the 32GB basic version for the following prices:

  • €329 euros in Germany
  • £279 in the United Kingdom
  • €339 in France
  • €337 in Italy
  • €329 in Spain

Microsoft has not said exactly why it is suddenly dropping the price of the Surface RT. Obviously, sales of the tablet have not been going well, but it remains unknown whether Redmond have had other motives for the price cut.

Microsoft is basically ditching RT. Do your homework before you get suckered into the price drop. Dell is doing a much better deal-shop the XPS10 tablet.

Except for the XPS10 sucks because of the Atom processor in it. Only the newest generations of the Atom processors are worth anything. I have a Surface RT and I love it. I'm a computer tech and I'm pretty damn picky about things like that.
