Local Dallas TV news shows the public what's new with smartphone cameras
The local NBC affiliate in Dallas ran a story on the Evening News showing some of the new features available on today's smartphone cameras. Models like the LG Optimus G, Samsung Galaxy S III, Nokia Lumia 920 and the Samsung GALAXY Note II were some of the phones mentioned. And one of the features that the story focused on was the Smart Shoot Lens on the Nokia Lumia 920. This feature takes 5 frames for each picture you take and allows you to pick the best shot for each person in the photograph. The report also showed how someone who accidentally walks into your shot can be erased.
Another feature that was part of the report was one that allows the camera on your smartphone to snap a picture when a specific word is uttered. "Cheese" is the obvious choice and was the word used in the story. And to illustrate how you can make sure that you don't miss out on a great picture, the LG Optimus G was mentioned. The camera on that heavyweight senses when your finger is about to hit the camera button and starts snapping pictures before you actually snap the picture you wanted. This assures that you get the photo you want.
Many of the features mentioned are available on different models as mentioned on the report. No question that many of our loyal readers are well aware of these features and probably many already use them quite often on their handset. But the local news was catering to the average Joe who probably doesn't know most of the things that his smartphone can do.
