Lenovo exec reveals that a Windows Phone 8 handset is on the horizon
As much as we’d love to say that Lenovo has a big presence in the mobile landscape within the US, we all know that’s not the case, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t accept them with open arms. Of course, seeing that Lenovo is most known for manufacturing Windows-based PCs, it’s only natural to see them move into the mobile space with some kind of Windows Phone.

Well, it seems that Lenovo is prepping to make a splash with some sort of Windows Phone 8 smartphone that might be ready in time for the fall. Specifically, it was Lenovo’s very own Senior Vice President, Liu Jun, who confirmed the company’s intentions – albeit, no additional information about the handset was disclosed. Nevertheless, we’re eager to see what they produce for their first offering.

Despite having a small piece of the pie in the US, Lenovo is actually the fourth largest smartphone maker in China – where they intend on increasing sales to 18 million units this year alone. Well, it’s obviously nice that they’re expanding their reach into a new mobile platform aside from Android.
