Xiaomi co-founder and executive Lei Jun took to his Weibo account today to announce that the company has shipped 1.5 million units of the Xiaomi Mi Max in the phablet's first two months of availability. With a massive 6.44-inch screen (and a 1080 x 1920 resolution), Xiaomi is aiming at a very niche market which makes the number of units shipped all the more impressive.

There are two different versions of the Mi Max. One features the Snapdragon 650 chipset, carries 3GB of RAM, and offers 32GB of native storage. The other is powered by the Snapdragon 652 SoC, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. Both models have a 16MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and Android 6.0 pre-installed.

Xiaomi is holding an event on July 27th at which time it is expected to unveil the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. This model also sports a 5.5-inch display and comes in two variants, each with a deca-core CPU from MediaTek. One features 3GB of RAM inside, while the other model has 4GB of the sweet stuff on board.
