MOTO G8 PLAY LIVE IMAGES
Since the pipelines opened earlier this week the flow of Motorola leaks simply hasn’t stopped. The latest one involves a couple of live Moto G8 Play images which corroborate the phone’s design and reveal some of the key specs.

The Motorola Moto G8 Play appears to simply be a cheaper version of the recently announced One Macro. It borrows the latter’s 6.2-inch notched display which supports a 720p resolution and pairs it with the same 8-megapixel selfie snapper and thick bezels. The rear of the phone is pretty similar too, although there are some important differences.

As can be seen in the images, the Moto G8 Play features a triple-camera setup on the rear. This is expected to house the same 13-megapixel shooter that can be found on the One Macro in addition to its 2-megapixel depth sensors. However, the laser autofocus system is now gone and the 2-megapixel macro camera has been replaced with a super-wide-angle snapper that supports a 117-degree field of view.

The amount of storage and RAM the smartphone will ship with remains to be seen but the sticker that’s attached to the front panel mentions an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The name of the chipset isn’t provided but it’s likely MediaTek’s Helio P60. Completing the setup is a 4,000mAha battery that supports fast charging.
Motorola’s Moto G8 Play will be announced at an event on October 24 alongside the Moto G8 Plus and the Moto E6 Play.
