LG Stylo 5 case renders leaked ahead of official announcement
The LG Stylo series seems to be quite popular in the US, as the South Korean phone manufacturer continues to bring new stylus-based devices to the country. The reason might be the fact that many consider LG Stylo smartphones the poor man's Galaxy Note, but let's not jump to conclusions yet.

Apparently, LG plan to launch yet another Stylo series smartphone, but without changing too much, at least in terms of design. Several pictures of the LG Stylo 5 have just been leaked by @Sudhanshu1414 on Twitter.

The pictures don't come with any information regarding what's inside the phone, but design-wise, the LG Stylo 5 strongly resemble the previous model. It appears that LG is content with the reception of its Stylo series and doesn't plan to change anything when it comes to looks.

Coincidence or not, the LG Stylo 5 name recently popped up at the Global certification forum website, so we're definitely getting closer to an official announcement. The only details revealed by the listing are the presence of a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port.

No information about the LG Stylo 5 leaked yet, but considering the previous model was revealed exactly one year ago, there's a high chance that LG will announce it at some point this month.

I wonder if they are going to introduce a Time of Flight camera in the front? Plus the screen has something that looks like it's unlocking the the stylo 5. So it could be face or maybe a ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is under the display. Oh, wait it can't be a fingerprint scanner under the screen because it still has a finger print scanner on the back, like the previous one. So it must be face unlock.

Its a swipe to unlock. You swipe the lock icon up to the center circle on the screen.

Why would it be a swipe to unlock, especially since just touching the finger print sensor on the back will unlock the device and your at the home screen. Unless you want to type in your password. The more I look at it I believe it's face unlock, especially since you see the little pad lock on the bottom of the screen that shows the padlock which is unlocked at that point. So the display is clearly showing the results of a face unlock. If it comes with a ToF camera, then I would get it just for that alone.

It's LG, so the bar isn't set that high. Outside of the V20, LG just isn't any good at all.

To say they're not any good at all is just pure ignorance. Let me guess, your assessment is based solely on the fact that they don't sell as much as Samsung and that you've never actually owned any current device from them?

From my experience I've had more problems with LG than any other brand. Software update bootlooped my G2 when I had it, T Mobile had to replace it. Gave LG another chance, had a G3 and the infamous frame crack around the lower mic happend. Now, I have my bros old V20, a S7, S9+. I'm quite happy with the V20, granted a new battery was needed. Wife had a G Pro from at&t, pretty food build, but I retired it due to GPS issues. That was after the sim reader went bad and was replaced.

Buffalo agreed. Only a pinhead thats more concerned with brand name would buy a 1000 dollar phone thats got a 2 year lifespan when for less than 200 you can get a phone that has a camera processing speed and memory that are all more than adequate for your average phone user. The 6 inch display is brilliant and the battery life and charge time beat both the Iphone and Samdung overpriced pieces of dog crap. Plus the no need for a case with the gorillia glass. I have dropped my phone several times with the last big drop causing only a minor hairline crack in the bottom corner. Even if it were to break its cheap enough to just get another one. Think of it this way you can get 5 unlocked phones for the price of one golden ticket.

The V30 was a terrific phone. Excellent battery life (2 days often). Wide angle camera before they became popular.

For me not enough storage and ram for heavy use. Hopefully both those are taken care of, that it's even bigger, and charges even quicker. I also would not mind a return to removable battery and some IR and dual SIM (or at least no eSim). All in all, as long as storage is 64+ and goes to Metro be or TMO, I'm buying it. And there's a strong case for a Plus version too.

The stylii on these phones is just capacitive isn't it? No actual digitiser beyond the basic touch one?

Kinda. The pens don't work on other phones, yet they don't have a pad behind the screen like the Galaxy Note's do. It's weird.

I resisted the purchase of any stylus type phones. It just didn't seem cool. However as my fat fingers didn't get skinnier and the keyboards didn't get wider, it appeared that a stylus is just the answer! I have previously purchased several LG phones so I decided I would give this one a shot that means the LG stylus 4. It turns out I love the stylist. In fact I don't think I'll ever buy another phone that doesn't have a stylus it's so much easier to use it's more accurate and frankly every function have one.

My experience about LG phone is, the glass got broken too easy, even with a case on. Same experience on stylo 3 and 4.
